This was a really good book where different authors told stories about when they were little. There are stories from people like Norma Fox Mazer and Jane Yolen. It was really good and interesting. I liked it. If you have to read an information book, this is the way to go.

10. Our Only May Amelia by Jennifer L. Holm
Our Only May Amelia is about the only girl in a Finnish-American family, and she has seven brothers. It's set in 1899 in Washington. She resents being expected to act like a lady, when she just wants to be able to act like her brothers. She's a bit of a trouble maker, but she's also a loveable character. This was a really good book.
9. The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes
This was a really good and quick read. It's about 2 girls who are in the same class as a poor girl who wears the same dress every day. One day the 2 girls ask the other girl if she has any other dresses. The girl replies that she has a hundred dresses in her closet. Every day, the girls ask her the same question and she gives the same answer. One day when the school has a dress contest, the girls find out what she really meant by a hundred dresses. It's an amazing and heartwarming book.
8. Anne of Green Gables by L.M Montgomery
This is one of my favorite books. I'd seen the movie but never read the book until now. It's about an orphan girl who mistakenly get sent to a brother and sister who wanted a boy orphan. It's about an imaginative girl who wants to find a home, and her adventures in Avonlea. It's an amazing book, and if you haven't read it yet, you should.
7. Invincible Louisa by Cornelia Meigs
This book is the biography of Louisa May Alcott, the author of Little Women. It's a really good book, and I would recommend it to anyone. It's really well written. I could hardly put it down. There's an amazing story behind Little Women and I think you should read it.
6. The Illyrian Adventure by Lloyd Alexander
The Illyrian Adventure is about an adventurous girl who goes on a trip, has an adventure, and solves a mystery. Its about an orphaned girl, 16-year-old Vesper Holly, who goes to a European country in the 1800s with her guardian. She investigates and ancient mystery and they become involved in a dangerous rebellion. It was a really good book and I want to read the rest of the series.
5. Ida B. by Katherine Hannnigan
Ida B. was an amazing book. It's about a girl who live in the country and has been homeschooled her whole life. Then her mom gets cancer and she has to go to regular school. She has a hard time and she has to learn to cope with everything. Her mom's cancer, having to go to regular school, and the fact that neither of her parents seems to have time for her anymore. It was a really good and quick read.
