This book takes place in some rocky mountains. It is a perfect live for 14 year old Miri, untill soldiers from the palace come and declare that it had been prophised that the prince's bride would come from here. They round up all the under 18 year olds, including Miri. They are forced to go to a horrible academy, where they get shut in the closet with the rats if they misbehave. It turnes out all right in the end though. I loved this book!
