29. Lyddie

I read this book for the September Mother-Daughter Bookclub. It was really good. It was about a fourteen year old girl named Lyddie who, when her mother and two sisters go of to live with her uncle, her and her brother are sent of to live in different places. She is sent to work at a inn, while her brother is sent of to work at the mills. After a few months, Lyddie dicides that she wants to go work in a factory in a big city, to make money to pay of the debt on her house. She travels on a stagecoach to a big city, and there she finds housing and work in a factory as a weaver. She worked in Massuchusetts in the 1840s. She evenually gets enough money that she can go home and live with her family. I thought that this was a really good book.
