10. The Fire Within

This was the first in a series of books called the Last Dragon Chronicles. This book started with a college boy named David Rain trying to find a house to board in. One day, he sees an advertisment for a free room. On the poster it says, must be used to cats and dragons. David ends up taking the room. When he gets there he finds an eleven-year-old girl named Lucy, and her mom, Liz Pennykettle. He also finds a lot of clay dragons. Pretty soon Liz has made David his own dragon. Lucy is looking for some squirrels, and David decides to write a a book about the squirrels for Lucy. Every time David gets stuck in his book, he will see his dragon, Gadzooks, in his mind, writing words on his clay pad. As soon as he writes something, the same thing happens in real life. Pretty soon, David finds out that there is more to the Pennykettles and thier dragons than he ever thought.
