4. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

Black Beauty is a really good classic. It's autobiography of a horse. It is really good and follows a horse throughout it's entire life. It's amazing. It does have some pretty sad parts, but overall it's a really good book. I enjoyed it.

3.Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli

This Newbery award winning book was really good. It was about how when Jeffery (aka Maniac Magee)'s parents die, he goes to live a the segregated town, where his life goes from horrible to legendary. He performs all sorts of stunts, from untangling knots to living on the "wrong" side of town. Through all of it, he manages to bring the segregated town together. He also manages to find a home, which he hasn't had since the first grade when he ran away from home. He goes from unknown to legendary. It was really good.

2. Eragon by Christopher Paolini

This was one of the best book I have read in a long time. It was about a young farm boy named Eragon who one day finds a dragon egg in the mountain while hunting. He soon goes from a boring life on a farm to an action filled life filled with dragons, elves, and adventure. He is forced to try and get rid of the ruler of the ruler of the kingdom, who is a tyrant. With his dragon Saphira at his side, nothing can stop him. It was such a good book!

1. Sammy Keyes and the Wedding Crasher by Wendelin Van Drannen

This was another really good Sammy Keyes book. It was about one of Sammy's teachers starts receiving death threats, and Sammy is one of the prime suspects. Her boyfriend is also avoiding her, and she doesn't know why. While all of this is going on, Sammy also has to be a reluctant bridesmaid. It was really good and intense and awesome.

Goals

Instead of setting challenges for the year, I'm going to set challenges for the school year. I want to read 100 books by the end of the school year. I already have 50!

16. The Two Princesses of Bamarre

This was a really good book by the author of Ella Enchanted. It is about two princesses who are sisters. One is really adventurous and one day wishes to go on a great adventure and fight a dragon. The other sister is the exact

opposite. She is scared of nearly everything, and she hates adventure. Both of them are forced to change that though, when the adventurous sister, Merryl, catches the Grey Death. The other sister, Addie, has to go to try and find the cure. It was a really good book.

15. Wishful Thinking

This book is the second in a series. It is a really good series about this factory that grants kids wishes. If you make a wish on your birthday, and you close your eyes and blow out all the candles and don't tell anybody, then your wish gets granted. One day an orphan boy named Benjamin Bartholomew Piff makes a wish for unlimited wishes. Soon, a strange looking person comes to the door of the orpanage and explains to him about the wish factory. Soon, Benjamin is working at the wish factory. Both of the books in the series are really good books.
